DIGITAL (FULL COLOR) PRINTING FAQ

What is digital printing?

Ann Arbor Tees digitally prints direct to film transfers that we can then apply to a myriad of garments. Unlike screen printing, digital printing doesn't require screens, making it an excellent option for full color artwork, names and numbers, and smaller order quantities. Modern digital transfers produce vibrant durable prints with a soft feel that holds up well through repeated washings. In some cases, they are even more durable and long lasting than screen printing.

How is digital printing priced?

Digital printing is priced based on the number of print locations, the material used, and the quantity ordered. Because digital printing requires no screens, it is often more cost-effective than screen printing for small orders or designs with many colors. Larger quantities may still benefit from screen printing, depending on the artwork and garment type.

Is digital printing for me?

Digital printing is a great choice for small quantities, highly detailed artwork, full-color graphics, and projects that require personalization, such as individual names and numbers. It's also ideal for one-off items or designs that would be expensive to screen print due to the number of colors.

For larger orders with simple artwork, screen printing is often the more economical option. Our team is happy to recommend the best decoration method based on your design, garment selection, quantity, and budget during the quote process.
